NINE DAYS OF CEREMONY

It is officially announced that the burial of the Pope* will take place on February 14 at 3 p.m. (G.M.T.), and that the conclave for the election, of the new Pope will be held betweea February 26 and March 1. Nine Funeral Masses will be said during the nine days of the funeral ceremonies, which were begun today, being conducted by members of the Chapter of St. Peter's, six cardinals attending. The last three Masses will be the most 'solemn.
The congregation of cardinals will meet daily until the conclave to conduct urgent church business.
In accordance with his own wish, the Pope's tomb will be in the vault of the Vatican next to that of Pope Pius X.
Crowds assembled in St. Peter's' Square- before dawn. It is expected that three-quarters of a million people' will witness the lying-in-state,
When the remains of the Pope are embalmed the heart will b,e removed and enclosed in an earthen jar and sent to the Church of St. Vincent Anastasius, which preserves the hearts of Popes..
Professor Mistrucci, sculptor, took a death mask of the Pope.
Professor Bianchi, the heart specialist- who attended the Pope, disclosed today that when the Pope was recovering from his heart attack on Feb..' ruary 8, he pleaded to.be kept-, aliva : till at least after today's ceremonies in celebration of the seventeenth anniversary of his coronation, adding: • "I dearly wish to be present^ even if I am unable to participate actively." ,;
