HENSHAW SUCCEEDS
AVIATOR EXHAUSTED

(Received February 10, 10.30 a.m.) LONDON, February 9. The aviator Alex. Henshaw, who took off from Cape Town yesterday on a return flight to London, having broken the outward record, landed at Gravesend at 1.51 p.m. The return flight occupied 39-| hours, beating the record by 17 hours 27 minutes. The instrument board and Henshaw's coat were drenched with blood. Henshaw stated that the flight was very bumpy over the last stage. His nose had been bleeding since 7.15 a.m. Despite exhaustion he made a perfect landing. He was lifted out of the machine and was unable to stand. He was carried to the Customs building, where he speedily recovered. Henshaw completed the double flight in 4 days 10 hours, beating the record set up, by the New Zealander, Flying-Officer Clouston, and Mrs. Kirby-Green,
