' There was a particularly large crowd in attendance for the first day of the Egmont Racing Club's Summer Meeting at Hawera, and after a spell of fine weather -the track was in -splendid order. , The totalisator figures, showed j ' a good increase, the total being £19,732 10s, as against £15,378 10s, an increase of £4354.
