PHYSICAL FITNESS
MAKARA'S PART
' Instructions regarding the parade and massed assembly marking the opening of Physical Fitness Week in Wellington were received by the Makara County Council at its meeting today from the local committee. A letter was also received from the New Zealand Counties' Association requesting the co-operation of county councils in the matter. It submitted a copy of the proposals made by the FairlieMcKenzie County, South Canterbury, in connection with Fitness Week.
"My opinion is that we should continue as we are doing in connection with this week," said the chairman (Mr. E. Windley). "As far as the city is concerned I am representing the council, and I do not think we need to go any further into the matter. We will have to fall in with the city; things are so scattered in our county that it would not be possible to organise anything there."
