BRITISH UNEMPLOYMENT

(British Official Wireless.) (Received February 10, 1.20 p.m.) RUGBY, February 9. In the House of Commons, the Minister of Labour, Mr. Ernest Brown, said that the increase in the number of unemployed was regretted in all parts of the House, but it would be a misjtake to exaggerate its significance The increase last month was due in large part to the fact that the increase in unemployment which normally follows the cessation of Christmas acjtivities was accentuated this year by bad weather. He also made the point that longterm unemployment was steadily on the decrease. The Labour Party's censure motion will be debated on Thursday.
