tire satisfaction with the work being carried oyt at Karamea under the direction of Mr. Halley-

Regarding recent criticism of the scheme and a possible disastrous happening if the river was in full flood, Mr. Ball said that the Department had been aware that the wall needed strengthening and work was in progress now. The wall would be fully strengthened and should defy any floods.
