Dr. and Mrs. E. L. Marchant, Myrtle Street, Lower Hutt, will leave next week by the Wanganella for Sydney to join the Or cades for a trip to Europe and Great Britain. They, expect to be away about six or seven months.
Mrs. Brand, Scotland, is visiting Mr and Mrs. Vesey Robinson, Blenheim.
Miss J. M. Macintosh, who has been staying in Christchurch, sailed from Sydney by the Ormonde for England. While in Great Britain she will stay with her nephew, Professor R. R. Macintosh, of Oxford University.
Mrs. Kirkcaldie, Ohau, who motored to Wellington yesterday in order to bid farewell to her son, Mr. Kebbell Kirkcaldie, who left by the Awatea for Sydney, returned home last night. She was accompanied by her elder son and daughter.
Mrs. A. E. Brooke-White, Christchurch, who has been staying at the Hotel St. George, left yesterday by the Awatea for a visit to Australia.
Masterton visitors to Wellington on Monday were Mr. and Mrs. H. E. Pither and Mr. Lawson Pithe^ Mrs. N. H. Prior, Mr. and Mrs. J; H. Irving, Mrs. R. R. Burling, Miss R. Burling, Miss Vera Gambling, and Mrs. F. Shearer. ,
Mr. and Mrs. Jason Borthwick, who have been staying with Mr. and Mrs. Herbert Elworthy, Timaru, hay left on their return to Australia.
Miss Hinemoa Rosieur, Auckland, has come to London to further her musical studies after having spent four years in Australia, where she won the first "Melba Bequest Scholarship," writes "The Post's" special correspondent
Mr. and Mrs. W. 'Harley Slack and Miss Althea Harley Slack, Christchurch, who have been visiting Wellington, have returned home. ■
Mr. and Mrs. Lindsay C. ■ Arnolt. "Lower Hutt, returned by the Awatea on Monday after five months' tour abroad. ■
Miss Rulh Wix and Miss. A. W. Gibbs, both of Wellington, and Miss M. Low, Otago, have reached London, having come via Canada, wrote "The Post's" representative from London on January 19. Miss Wix is on leave and hopes to spend' most of her year on holiday in England and Scotland, but her friends are on exchange, and will be stationed in London for this year.
Mrs. James Ames, Wellington, has left for a visit to Auckland and Rotorua.
Mrs. Isabel Halligan, Wellington, left by the Mataroa on her return to New Zealand, states "The Post's" representative, writing on January 19., She spent Christmas in London with her sister, and the New Year with her cousins, Colonel and Mrs. Andrew Watson.
Mrs. •T. G. Boyd (Mataura), and Miss Margaret Mere wether (Wanganui) are staying at the Royal Oak Hotel.
Mrs. F. Sygrove, Upper Hutt, returned, to Wellington on Monday after a visit to Westport.
Mrs. T. Wilford and Miss P. Wilford, Wellington, are spending an extended holiday-at "Glen Emu" ■ Station, Raurimu, and are the guests of Mr. and Mrs. W. A. Lane.
Wellington passengers on the Mataroa, which left England on January 20 for Auckland, include Mr. R. Burn, Dr. Mavis V. Zane, Mr. J. D. McMillan, Mrs. E. A. Stewart; Mr. D. E. G. Naish, and Mrs. M. J. Wallis.
Mrs. I. E. Butchers, late of Kelburn and now ot Sydney,, arrived in the Dominion by the Oronsay and is visiting her mother, Mrs. Slater, Hataitai, and her son and grandson.
Passengers who will join the Niagara on February 15 for Auckland include the following:—Mr, and Mrs. S. G. Scoular, Mrs. J. A. Adams and Miss H. A. Adams, Miss D. M. L. Corlett, Mr. R. A. K. Smith, and Mr. D. Alexander, writes "The Post's" London representative.
