Another historic link with ''old* Wanganui goes this week, , when -the wooden building which- the postman's branch • and, the, . foreign parcels branch will be pulled down. - This building; many years .ago,,-,was occupied by the. Bank of, Australasia. When it was taken under the Public Works Act, 30 years ago,,an interesting compensation case followed.., .When the site is cleared, a start will/be, made with the new post office. In* the meantime, work in the postmenV,. and foreign parcels department ( is .being carried on in the old gas offices further along Ridgway Street.
