MANY KIND FRIENDS
LEVIN MEMORIAL HOME
The holiday season has not been a dull one for girls of the Levin Memorial Home. They have been entertained by many kind friends during the past month and have enjoyed, among other things, motor excursions and picture parties.
The first party was given by old girls of the Home. They banded together and took presents for all the children and gave them a thoroughly enjoyable evening. Marsden School gave them a Christmas party and took the children to the picture theatre and back. Five pounds were donated for presents. Mr. and Mrs. Sawell gave a delightful party on Christmas Eye at their, lovely home in Lower Hutt, and the Rotary Club gave the children a bus drive to the Majestic Theatre pictures, providing ice cream and .toys for each small guest. Thie Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer Company, combined with the Regent Theatre, also entertained at a picture party, and the Wellington taxis provided free transportation to and fro. With the splendid donation of the Comriiercial Travellers' Association the' children went to town with the matron and had a gay day of shopping.
On Saturday, January. 21, an anonymous donor gave the girls a wonderful outing. They first of all had free rides on the "dodgems," and were then taken by special tram to Newtown Park, where-lunch was.provided. Afterwards they were taken to the King's Theatre to see, the film "Snow White and the Seven Dwarfs:" Their day finished with a drive rbund the waterfront and the distribution of fruit and sweets.
Last week the Wellington Taxi Company took the girls for a drive, round the entire waterfront, and again soft drinks and cakes were distributed.
In addition to the generous donors of all these happy holiday outings, the committee wishes to thank the following donors:—Mrs. Henry Hall, Miss Nathan, Denhard Bakery, "A Scots College Mother," Anonymous, Mr. Jennings, Mrs. L.
