TRIBUTE TO MR. T. U. WELLS

CHRISTCHURCH, February 3. The executive committee of the New Zealand University Senate today placed on record its regret at the loss of the services of Mr. T. U. Wells, who since 1937 has been a representative elected to the senate by the General Court of Convocation.
As a teacher of wide experience, as a member and for some years chairman of the Auckland Education [Board, as a member of the Massey I Agricultural College Council, as a ! member and later as president of the Auckland University College Council, Mr. Wells had placed at the service of the senate an expert knowledge and balanced judgment in matters of educational policy and administration. He had always been most ready to devote his time to the work of the subcommittee^ of the senate and to all duties which could further the effective working of the New Zealand University, said the committee's resolution
