A start was made with the eliminating rounds of the open championship. Section play has been, completed. Results:— OPEN CHAMPIONSHIP. First Round.—A. G. F. Ross beat Mrs. Anstis, 26-19; Mrs. McLennan beat Mrs. McLeod, 26-4. , HANDICAP DOUBLES. : Quarter-final.— Bryan (minus 1£) and Miss McKenzie (6£) beat Mesdames Petrie (scr) and Hill (5), 26-5; Mrs. Henderson (scr) and Mills (8) beat Mesdames Clark (minus £) and Reed (6), 26-22; Mrs. Brown (scr) and Miss D'Ath (W beat Mesdames Wood (*>■ and Anderson (SJ), 26-20.
