CANADA'S VISITORS
In a prosperous year visitors bring £60,000,000 into Canada. Thus the tourist trade ranks almost on a par with the mineral production, stated J. C. Stead, Superintendent of Publicity, Department of Mines and National Resources, Ottawa, during an address. The National Parks play a large part in attracting and holding the tourist trade. Holidays in Canada's National Parks are available not only to" the wealthy, but to all, since a variety of accommodation may be secured in them. The National Parks are 'sanctuaries for wild life, and the most outstanding fact in this respect is that they have preserved the buffalo from extinction. Because of the increase of the herds,- about 2000 of these animals have to be slaughtered each year, and buffalo coats and robes are obtainable once more. . Wild fowl are also protected in the National Parks.
