FOOTBALLER TRANSFERRED

Mr. R. J. Thomas, a former Auckland representative Rugby footballer, who has been residing in Wellington for the past seven months, will leave tonight for England on exchange to the High Commissioner's Office in London. He will be absent from NewZealand for a year.

A member of the University Rugby team that toured Japan in 1935, Mr. Thomas played a few games for the Victoria College fifteen towards the close of last football season. He is a front-rank forward. If an opportunity presents itself, he intends to play in England. Swimming and rifle-shooting are other interests Mr. Thomas has.
