LEOPARD AT LARGE
WHOLE COUNTY ALARMED
HOLIDAY TOWN INDOORS
(Received January 11, .1 p.m.)
LONDON, January 10.
The police ordered women and children indoors tonight while nearly the whole male population in the holiday town of Paignton were hunting a leopard that had escaped from a private zoo after mauling its keeper. The whole of Devonshire was warned by radio, and the mobile police went scouring round, with special constables standing by, armed ready for action at any point where the animal was sighted.
