LOYALIST DESTROYER AID AT GIBRALTAR

VIOLATION OF AGREEMENT

ALLEGED

(Received December 23, 12.50 p.m.)

LONDON, December 22.

General Franco has sent a Note to Britain alleging that France supplied the Republican destroyer Jose Luis Diez, which is being repaired at Gibraltar, with torpedoes, anti-aircraft shells, and other ammunition.

The Note declared that a French repair ship transported the supplies, that French sailors supplemented the destroyer's crew, and also that French warships apparently intend to coyer the destroyer's departure, all of which is a flagrant violation of the non-in-tervention agreement, threatening serious complications.
