Loyal Newtown Lodge.—There was a good attendance at the last meeting, at which Bro. Eades was acting Noble Grand. Visitors included members from Papakura Lodge, Auckland, and Sister Wallis, Kilbirnie and Britannia Lodges. The District Grand Master and district executive members installed the newly-elected officers as follows: — Noble Grand, Bro. Waterhouse; Vice Grand, Bro. M. McGrath; Elective Secretary, Bro. Brown; Warden, Bro. Eves; Guardian, Bro. Foote; 1.P.N.G.. Bro. Eades; Conductor, Bro. Carver. The D.G.M. gave an address on "Social Security" so far as it affected friendly societies. At the conclusion of the meeting an indoor bowls match oetween Britannia and Newtown Lodges was played and won by Britannia. Table tennis was also played.

Loyal Combination Lodge.—Bro. Glass-Johnston, Noble Grand, presided at the last meeting. There was a fair attendance. A new member was initiated. Bro. Stebbing was installed as warden.

Loyal Petone Lodge (Moera 'branch). —-At the last meeting the District Grand Master, assisted.by the Deputy Grand Master (Bro. 'Craddock) -and Bros. Holt and Wickens (members of the management committee of the district), installed the following officers:—Noble Grand, Bro. McMullan; Vice Grand, Bro. Horwell; Elective Secretary, Bro. Sherlock; Warden, Sister Rushton; Guardian, Sister Copeland; Immediate Past Noble Grand, Bro. Corles. An address was given on the social security scheme as related to benefits obtainable from friendly societies. Loyal Sister Wallis Lodge.—The recefit meeting was presided over oy Sister Megan Champion, Noble Grand. The District Grand Master and Deputy D.G.M., together with other members of the executive installed the following officers:—Noble Grand, Sister Christina Forbes; Vice Grand, E. Bumbleton; Elective ' Secretary, Sister J. Arcus; Warden, Sister R. TDumbleton; Guardian, Sister L. Champion; Conductor, Sister Alloway; Assistant Conductor, Sister D. Champion; Pianist, Sister E. Bunckenburg; 1.P.N.G., Sister Megan Champion. Nominations were received; for society officers. A report was received.of the lodge's official visit to Rose of Sharon Lodge. Owing to the Christmas holidays the lodge was closed for a month.

Loyal' Kilbirnie Lodge.—Bro. Forbes! presided over the last meeting, which was well attended. The balance-sheet was received, being held over for adoption at the next * quarterly summoned meeting. Arrangements were made in connection with the continuation of various bowls tournaments.1 The warden-elect was installed by the District Grand Master. The other officers for the ensuing term were installed at the previous meeting, the-present set of officers being:—Noble Grand, Bro. Forbes; Vice Grand, Bro. Howard; Elective Secretary, Bro. Foote; Warden, Bro. Jackson; Guardian, Bro. Wood; Conductors, \ Bros. Wickens and Levy; Immediate Past Noble Grand, Bro. Courtenay. The lodge' was addressed by the D.G.M. in respect to the operation of the Social Security Act so far. as it concerned friendly society members. Members were advised. that a circular on the matter had been issued by the society and would shortly be available to every member of the order. An invitation from Antipodean Lodge to be present at their reunion was accepted and availed of at the close of the meeting by a number of members. Nominations were taken for society officers, and Bro. J. L. Stewart (Britannia Lodge) was nominated for a position on the directorate. , Loyal Rose "of Valley Auxiliary Juvenile Lodge (Lower Hutt).—-The Christmas party was a marked success, over a hundred children being , present and a number of parents» and friends. Items were given by. juvenile brothers and sisters. Community singing was also an enjoyable part of the programme. Father Christmas arrived and distributed parcels to all children from a prettily-decorated tree. A presentation was made by Past Grand Bro. Little to Sister Seddon (wife of the Superintendent of the Juvenile Lodge), and a bouquet of roses was. presented to her. A presentation was also made to Bro. Seddon on behalf of the lodge, and Bro. Ivan England made a presentation to the District Grand Master. In the course of the evening reference was made to the work of the superintendent of the juvenile movement of the order.

Loyal Rose of the Valley Lodge '(Lower-Hutt).—The last meeting was well attended' and presided over by Bro. Page. The District Grand Master and his officers installed the following officers:—Noble Grand, Bro. R. Pemberton; Vice Grand, Bro. S. Wyper; Elective Secretary, Bro. T. Thomson; Warden, Sister Thomson; Guardian, Bro. P. Thomson; Conductors, Bro. S. Hewer and Sister. Reynolds; 1.0. P.N., Bro. Page. Bro. Smith was presented with a framed emblem as an, appreciation of his services, the presentation being made by the D.G.M. on behalf of the lodge.
