HERE AND THERE
Christmas at Manakau.
The Maaakau Women's Institute held a Christmas party for the school children. The senior classes gave folk dances, and a part-song, which caused a great deal of amusement with the appearance of the "ghost" of a horse. A Maori song was sung by Emma Murray, and "Rainbow on the River" by Tom Ransfield. The junior boys and girls also gave a folk dance, and the infants pleased all with their little action song. A little play, "The Mad Hatter's Tea Party," was performed by Misses Staples, B. Loney, Masters V. Long, and I. Robinson. Afternoon tea was served. A London Personal. Mr. and Mrs. L. S.
