HERE AND THERE

Christmas at Manakau.

The Maaakau Women's Institute held a Christmas party for the school children. The senior classes gave folk dances, and a part-song, which caused a great deal of amusement with the appearance of the "ghost" of a horse. A Maori song was sung by Emma Murray, and "Rainbow on the River" by Tom Ransfield. The junior boys and girls also gave a folk dance, and the infants pleased all with their little action song. A little play, "The Mad Hatter's Tea Party," was performed by Misses Staples, B. Loney, Masters V. Long, and I. Robinson. Afternoon tea was served. A London Personal. Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Hearnshaw will leave by the Ormonde this week' en route for Wellington, stated "The Post's" London representative on December 1. The latter belongs to Australia, so a break of two weeks will be made in Perth. Mr. JLearnshaw will on arrival take up the position of Lecturer in Psychology at Victoria University College. He is the son of Professor F. J. Hearnshaw, who recently retired from the Professorship of History at King's College, London. ■Mr. Hearnshaw has been on the staff of the National Institute of Industrial Psychology in London.
