PRISON ESCAPEE

ARREST LAST NIGHT

Charged that he was deemed to be an incorrigible rogue in that he escaped from the Wi Tako Prison, Trentham, yesterday, before the expiration of the term for which he was committed, Allan Roy Duff, a labourer, aged 20, appeared before Mr. J. L. Stout, S.M., in the Magistrate's Court today.

The accused was arrested only last night, ' said Detective-Sergeant P. Doyle, who asked for a remand to tomorrow morning, when a charge of breaking and entering and theft, in addition to one of unlawful conversion of a motor-car, would also be preferred.

The remand was granted.
