ROME, November 30,
The Foreign Minister, Count Ciano, told the Chamber of Deputies that Italy mobilised 300,000 additional troops to fight on the side of Germany if war had broken out last September. i
He added that the Anglo-Italian agreement was an effective contribution to the consolidation of peace and took account of the new realities
of the situation in Europe, the Mediterranean, and Africa, which was being settled on the basis of the most absolute equality between Britain and Italy, both moral, political, and military.
