PREMATURE EXPLOSION

WESTPORT, November 30,

4 When a charge of gtelignite exploded today when he was tamping a hole, John Penberth, aged 21, a married man employed by the Public Works Department on the BullerInangahua railway, was injured and taken to the Buller Hospital.

The tamping rod blew out and his head, face, and right arm suffered considerably. His condition tonight is fair.
