HERE AND THERE
A Pleasant Party. Mrs. George Rait was guest of honour at a pleasant afternoon tea party held at Kirkcaldie and Stains's Tearooms recently. Mrs. Rait, who is leaving Bi'ooklyn, has been an active member of the R.S.A. Ladies' Auxiliary and the Brooklyn Townswomen's Guild, and will be greatly missed in these activities. Mrs. Rait was presented with a floral spray. Among those present were Mrs. Charles Naismith, Mrs. J. Hood, Mrs. D. MacDowall, Mrs. A. Troughton, Mrs. F. B. Jameson, Mrs. Albutt, and Mrs. Spittall. Rongotai College Funds Party. Mrs. W. S. N. McCartney recently gave a very successful bridge evening at her home in Moxham Avenue in aid of the funds for the Hataitai branch of the Ladies' Auxiliary of Rongotai College. Bridge was played in the lounge and sun-room and supper was served in the dining-room, Iceland poppies being used in artistic decorations. The prizes were won by Mrs. Taylor and Miss Effie Wright.
