LABOUR CONFERENCE

WELLINGTON NOMINEE

Mr. P. M. Butler has been nominated by the Wellington Trades Council to contest the ballot for the workers' representative at the International Labour conference at Geneva next year.

Six names were submitted to the meeting: Messrs. F. P. Walsh, J. Baxter, J. Moulton, E. Canham, P. M. Butler, and J. Roberts (Christchurch). Messrs. Walsh and Baxter withdrew.

The executive of the Federation of Labour called for a nominee from each of the eighteen affiliated trades councils. After the nominations have been received, they are to be submitted to the trades councils which will be asked to select one representative who will become the workers' representative at the conference.
