MR. PIRQW'S ACTION
TALKS WITH HERR HITLER
(Received November 26, 9 a.m.) LONDON, November 25. The Johannesburg correspondent of the "Daily Telegraph" reports that Mr. R. Stuttaford, Minister of thy. Interior, attended a private meeting of the United Party, at which strongcriticism was voiced of the visit to Germany by ,the Defence Minister, Mr. O. Pirow, especially because it came at a time when the whole world T-as shocked by Germany's treatment of Jews. ' Mr. Stuttaford promised to convey the views of the meeting to the Premier, General Hertzog. Other partifes are also protesting. The Nationalist Party fears that Mr. Pirow may compromise the Union's I claim to South-West Africa by supporting the British Government's efforts to retain Tanganyika. The Nationalists are not opposed to the return of Tanganyika, believing that if Germany secured it she would abandon her claim to South-West Africa.
