INCREASED WAGES

KELBURN TRAM STAFF

An all-round increase in wages of

twopence an hour for employees of the Kelburne and Karori Tramway Co., Ltd., was agreed to by the company's representatives yesterday at the hearing of a dispute with the employees before the Conciliation Commisioner (Mr. M. J. Reardon).

The new rates of pay, which will operate as from November 7, are as follows:—Gripmen, 2s 6d; ropemen, 2s 7d; general hands, 2s 6d; cleaners, 2s sd;. and ticket clerks, Is sd.

The award which the Arbitration Court will be asked to make will remain in force until November 6, 1939.
