MANUFACTURERS MEET

About forty members of the Wellington Manufacturers' Association met in the social hall at Bryant and May's factory last night for the annual meeting of the association. Mr H. H. Higgins presided

The annual report stated that the membership of the association was 377, compared with 378 last year. The membership had increased by 164 in the last four years. In moving the adoption of the report, Mr. Higgins referred to the position of manufacturers in New Zealand, the activities of the association, and the purchase of a property in Willis Street to provide the association with headquarters, as announced in "The Post" some days ago. The report was adopted after a brief discussion.

The following officers were elected: President, Mr. H. H. Higgins; vice-pre-sidents, Messrs. J. Abel and R. Burn; treasurer, Mr. W. A. Fisher; committee, Messrs. E. W. Ackland, G. S. Amos, R. Carruthers, P. Collier, W. F. Graham, H. L. Green, W. G. Harrison, C. S. Loughlin, J. T. Lewis, W. S. Livingstone, E. Lynneberg, jun., J. G. Marshall, K. Pallo, J. W. Penman, J. T. Spears, W. H. Stevens, E. E. Stonebanks, L. Stewart, D. F. Sutton. H. W. Thompson, R. G. Buckleton, H. R. Turner. J. H. Whittaker, and A. H. M. Wright.

Appreciation oi the services of Mr. J. T. Spears as Dominion president of the Manufacturers' Federation was expressed by the meeting.
