MISHAP AT BLENHEIM

BLENHEIM, This Day.

When one of the Baffin bombers' belonging to the Wellington Territorial Air Force Squadron which is encamped at. the Blenheim Aerodrome was taxi-ing slowly out on to the flying field this morning, preparatory^ to taking off for machine-gun practice at Lake Grassmere one of the landing wheels collapsed and the big machine tipped forward, smashing the propeller and one of the lower wings. Pilot-Officer Smith, who was at the controls, was uninjured.

An examination disclosed faults in the metal disc wheel. Repairs will be effected at Blenheim after spare parts are received from the Hobsonville base.
