NO ADVICE TO PREKS
QUESTIONS IN THE COMMONS
(British Official ■"Wireless; y (Received November 23, noon,). , RUGBY, November 22, In the House of Commons, Mr. G. la M. Mander (Labour) asked Jvirv Chamberlain if he would state to what extent recently advice had been officially tendered by members of the Government to owners of newspapers on tha attitude they should take on foreign policy. Mr. Chamberlain replied: "No sucli advice has been tendered." The following dialogue ensued:— Mr. Mander: Is it not the case that very recently representations have been made by members of the inner Cabinet to owners and editors of newspapers as to the way fthey, should treat foreign affairs and if-it wag not done officially was it done unofficially? Mr. Chamberlain: I said no such advice was given. Mr. Mander: I am asking if it was not done officially, was .it done unofficially? v Mr. Chsunberlain: Neither officially nor unofficially.
