MR. V. BARTLETT ELECTED
(Received November 19, 10 a.m.) LONDON, November 18. The Bridgewater by-election, due to the appointment of Mr. R. P. CroomJohnson to a judgeship, resulted as follows:— Mr. Vernon Bartlett (Independent Progressive) .. 19,540 Mr. Heatheote Amory (Conservative) 17,208 An Independent gain. At the 1935 General Election Mr. Croom-Johnson, K.C. (Conservative)
polled 17,939 votes, Mr. N. D. Blake (Liberal) 7370, and Mr. A. W. Loveys (Labour) 6240.
