LOST CONTROL
MOTOR-CYCLE CRASH
■ TWO PEOPLE INJURED
A compound fracture of the left leg was suffered by T. A. Ninness, a plaster worker, residing at 16 Britannia Street, Petone, and a compound fracture of the left leg and severe scalp wounds were suffered by Miss E. Inkster, a domestic, of 10 Green Street, when the motor-cycle driven by Ninness, and on which the latter was a pillion rider, crashed in Glenmore Street shortly before 8 o'clock last night. Both were taken to hospital by the Free Ambulance. When endeavouring to turn a bend in the road the motor-cycle mounted the footpath about 100 feet above The Rigi. It careered down the footpath, took away part of a concrete wall at the side of a tram shelter, and smashed both the cast-iron arm supports of a seat The woman was flung on to the footpath and the man into the gutter. Ninness's condition this morning was reported to be satisfactory. Miss Inkster was operated on last night and this morning was stated to be as well as could be expected.
