WELLINGTON REPERTORY
THEATRE. Wellington audiences are to have an early opportunity of seeing one of J. B. Priestley's latest plays, "I Have Been Here Before," which was produced just a year ago *m London, for the Wellington Repertory Theatre has made arrangements to present it under Mr. W. S. Wauchop's direction at the end of November. The London Press was unanimous in acclaiming it as Mr. Priestley?s, most significant work. Mr. Ivor Brown, the well-known critic of the "Sunday Observer," says in discussing this play: "The authenticity of Mr. Priestley's human beings and the drive of his > dramatic method do powerfully lift you along. He tells a good story in • terms of the theatre, richly developing in excitement and suspense. In the whirlwind of his energy your attention is caught up and whisked along in a generous and comprehensive cloud of philosophic bits and pieces, along with fragments of Buddhism, Barrieism, Dunneism, old Uncle Ouspehsky, and all. . . . Mr. Priestley, with, his knowledge of his job. . •• . creates an arresting narrative." The local production will be awaited with interest.
