LITTLE THINGS COUNT.
It's the little things that count when you» arev_fruggling with a career in HoUywoocT. There' is Wayne Morris, for example, who has been in pictures < not'iiuite iSyq'-years. His first picture 1 for Warmer 8r05.,: whose talent scouts 1 found him behind a character beard < in the Pasadena Community Play- 1 house, was with Pat O'Brien and J others in "China Clipper." On the 3 studio call sheets during that produc- < tioti:;.Wayne. was billed —when he was ' billed at all—as "and others." He ap- J peared. every briefly and no more im- ] portantly in ; one or two other pic- 1 tures, and.then got the chance of his < life.with the title role of "Kid Gala- ] had'," .inlaying with Edward G. Robin- ( son, -Bette Davis, and Humphrey j Bpgart. On- the call sheet of that f picture he was described as "Wayne j Morris," to distinguish him from other £ Morrises, if there were others in the £ cast. But now, after the solid hit he , made as "Galahad," he is appearing , in "Sjibmarine D-I," again with Pat , O'Brien, George Brent, and Doris j Westpn. " This, time the call sheets— each'and every one of them—referred j to"Mr." Morris.- That meant that Wayne had achieved recognition. He i is .now. entitled to the respect and J position accorded a successful actor.
