THE TEA MARKETS

The Colombo tea market this week was active for all grades, particularly medium and better sorts, according to private advices received in Wellington. There was an advance in these grades of Jd to |d, partly due to an improvement in quality. Advice from Colombo states that offerings during the next few weeks are expected to improve gradually in quality. The Calcutta market was fully firm for all grades with an active demand. The London market was fully firm.

(By Telegrapb—Prees Association.) DUNEDIN, October 26.

Mr. L. M. Wright has received the following cabled report on the Colombo tea auction of October 25: — At yesterday's sale of 1,500,0001b, a keen demand was shown for all grades. Common teas remained firm, but medium and fine grades advanced id to id. At next week's auction 1,750,000 pound will be offered.
