NEW YORK, October 22.
The Maritime Commission announced today that within six months it is laying down three 35,000Wt0n. liners for service to the East.
The liners will cost from! 8,000,000 to 11,000,000 dollars each, and will have a speed of 23 knots, enabling them to shorten the trans-Pacific", round trip by a week. They will be operated by the Dollar Line, which is changing its name. , ■ '
