BURNT TO DEATH
PASSENGER IN BLAZING PLANE
CRASH INTO HOUSE IN SYDNEY
SYDNEY, October 23.
Before the eyes of horrified women and children, a passenger in a Moth plane was burnt to death and the Dilot so badly burned that he died later in hospital when their machine crashed on to the roof of a house in Enfield suburb on Saturday afternoon.
The machine nose-dived into the house with terrific force and dropped blazing into the garden. Rescuers managed to extricate one of the occupants before the fierceness of the blaze drove them back. Two of the rescuers were badly burned and the house was slightly damaged by the fire.
The pilot was Lionel C. Jolly, aged 27, and the passenger was Keith Jolly, aged 25, a cousin of the pilot.
