AN ANGRY ATTACK
BRITISH REACTIONS
"NO INFLUENCE ON GERMAN COURSE OF ACTION"
(Received October 24, 11.40 aon.) BERLIN, October 23. The semi-official paper, "Diplomatik Correspondenz," angrily attacks the demonstrations throughout the British Empire against the return of Germany's former colonies.
"Such manoeuvres will not influence in any way Germany's standpoint or course of action," it is stated. "The disquiet shows that the circles concerned feel that things cannot be hiaintained without change. The, Reich claims that its possessions were taken under false pretences. It makes no difference which Power received colonies. Even if a colony has proved extremely useful to a State or a Dominion, the initiative for settlement does not lie with Germany."
