The Japanese report that thousands of Chinese are fleeing in confusion to Hankow from Canton. All trains and river craft are packed with soldiers, and troops are also withdrawing from Tsungyang and Pingkiang.
The Japanese report the capture of Hwangshihkiang, but the river booms still impede the passage to Hankow, which civilians continue to evacuate. JTighting continues on the ouskirts of Kishui and Tayeh.
