CATCHING THEM ALIVE

An excellent book about the wild animals of the Far Eastern jungles, by a man who is known all over the world for his skill in, capturing them alive, is "On Jungle Trails," by Frank Buck (Harrap). It is packed with authentic and startling information on tigers, crocodiles, snakes, elephants, monkeys, and many other animals, and there are also tales that show how, although the customs of natives are different from ours, yet their fundamental traits of character are the same.

In his foreword Frank Buck says: "In my whole career of dealing with wild animals I have never wilfully or unnecessarily harmed or injured a single one. . . ." The book will fascinate boys and girls of 12-16, and will also be useful to the teacher of geography. There is an appendix giving detailed information about the Asiatic animals, birds, and reptiles mentioned in the book.
