DOMINION RALLY

SALVATION ARMY BANDS

A Dominion rally of Salvation Army bands was opened at the Citadel, Vivian Street, this afternoon. In the past it has been the practice of the Salvation Army to hold rallies in each island, but this is the first occasion on which a Dominion gathering has beeu organised.

Twelve bands, including bands from Napier, Hastings, Greymouth, and Auckland, are taking part. The rally will continue until Monday, and tomorrow a bandsmen's council will be held. Musical festivals will be held in the Town Hall tonight, and tomorrow night Jhid on Monday there will be a grand marching display at the Basin Reserve.
