INVERCARGILL MAYORAL ELECTION

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) INVERCARGILL, October 19. Mr. J. R. Hanan, deputy Mayor, was today elected Mayor of Inyercargill with an absolute majority over the other two candidates. The election was caused by the death of Mr. John Miller two months I ago. The polling was: Hanan, 4202; Hugh Ritchie, 1649; H. J. Farrant,, 1563. .
