PLAZA THEATRE
Ginger Rogers in./'Carefree.'*
One of the most unusual and proved dance routines ever filmed is presented by Fred Astaire in his current screen musical, R.K.O. Radio's "Carefree," in which Ginger Rogers co-stars, which comes to the Plaza Theatre on Friday. The dance is a combination golf and dance number executed to the music of "Since They Turned Loch Lomond into Swing," one of the five compositions written for the picture by Irving Berlin, king of song. Although there are only sixteen golf shots in the dance us it appears on the screen, Astaire made almost a thousand too and iron »hots in rehearsals and in tn£ ■filming of the dance. Rehearsals occupied ten days of eight hours each, and the actual shooting required two and a half days.* The setting for the dance is the first tee at. an exclusive country club, and offers a beautiful scenic background fa* the danct.
