JURY'S PRESENTMENT
TAIL-LICHTS ON CYCLES
(By Telegraph.—Press Association.) HAMILTON, October 18. The opinion that all cycles using the highways at night should be compelled to have affixed to their machines a red tail-light in addition to a red reflector was expressed by the grand jury in a presentment made after consideration of indictments at the opening of the Supreme Court, Hamilton, today. Appreciation of the presentment was voiced by Mr. Justice Blair, who said he would forward it to the proper quarters. Commenting on the opinion expressed by the grand jury, his Honour said that his experience of a great many accident cases in which bicycles were involved demonstrated the fact that there was a source of much mischief in the careless fixing of reflector discs. "A great many discs," said his Honour, "are so fixed that they reflect the full moon and not the.' lights of overtaking vehicles." It was a simple matter to ensure that reflectors were properly fitted.
