NOT GUILTY VERDICT

(By Telegraph—Press Association.) DUNEDIN, October 18.

Charles Herbert Dobson, engineer, Oarnaru, was charged in the Supreme Court before Mr. Justice Kennedy today with negligently driving a car so as to cause the death of Victor Chittock. Mr. F. B. Adams, Crown Prosecutor, conducted the case for the Crown. The accused was represented by Mr. C. J. L. White. The Crown Prosecutor, in opening, said that the accident which was the basis of the charge occurred at the intersection of Severn and Lune Streets in Oamaru on June 4 when the accused's car collided with Chittock's motor-cycle. Chittock died from the injuries received shortly afterwards.

After a retirement of 15 minutes, the jury returned a verdict of not guilty.
