TOWNSWOMEN'S GUILD

The arts and crafts circle of the Miramar Townswomen's Guild gave an afternoon to display their work, also to say farewell to their teacher, Mrs. Boyce, who is leaving Wellington.

The exhibitors were Mesdames Green, Jensen, Pritchard, Rodgers,l McArthy, Keys, Brown, Bryant, Howarth, and Edmondson. The display was most creditable considering! the circle had only been at work for two months. Mrs. Boyce was presented with a crystal grape bowl, and suitably thanked the members for the gift. Afternoon tea was served, and items were given by the following:— Miss Betty Jensen, Mrs. Donohue. Mrs. Bacon, and Mrs. Hay wood, and Mrs. Moult gave a piano solo. All the performers were presented with shoulder sprays of sweet peas and freesias made by the circle leader, Mrs. Pritchard. Mrs. Bradstock (president of the guild) presided.

The circle also bade farewell to one of their members, Mrs. Howarth, who is leaving the district for Blenheim. Leaders of the circle are Mesdames Pritchard, Moult, and Jensen, with Mrs. Dean as honorary secretary.
