CATHEDRAL PROPOSALS
(By Telegraph—Press Association.)
AUCKLAND, This Day.
Proposals for the building of the Anglican Cathedral at Auckland are contained in a Bill introduced to the Diocesan Synod. Archdeacon Simkin said that the first part of the cathedral would be begun as soon as enough money was available, and-that it would have to be within ten years of the decease of Miss M. T. Horton, whose bequest of £60,000 brought the scheme within measure of practicability. Archdeacon Simkin added it was likely that £100,000 would be needed before the first part of the building could be completed. Provision is made for the incorporation of St. Mary's Church in the cathedral.
