The British Ambassador, Sir Nevile Henderson, presented to Dr. Hugo Eckener, designer of the Grat; Zeppelin, the gold medal of the Royal Aeronautical Society. Sir Nevile Henderson said that this was the first time the gold medal had been awarded outside the British Empire and it marked British appreciation of the high place Dr. Eckener had won in the sphere of aeronautical science.
