NOT DUMPED

POTATO SHIPMENT

ALLEGATION DENIED

(By Telegraph—Press Association.)

HAWERA, October 12,

During an address in Hawera this afternoon the Minister of Marketing (the Hon. W. Nash) referred to a statement made by Mr. A. S. Falconer, National Party candidate for Dunedin North, to the effect that a recent shipment of potatoes to South America had been dumped.

Mr. Nash said: "This statement is in keeping with others made by Opposition candidates to discredit the Government. Mr. Falconer's statement is incorrect and has no foundation of fact. The position is that the first shipment duly arrived and is being sold on the market, while a second shipment is now on the way to South America, and not a single potato has been dumped."
