BENEFITS FOR FARMER
Further criticism of what he termed the very misleading newspaper advertisements of the National Party, was made by Mr. C. H. Chapman, Labour candidate for Wellington North, at an open-air meeting at the corner of| Thorndon Quay and Moore Street, last' night. "Another misleading full-page advertisement issued by the National Party," he said, "depicts a farmer, who is referred to as having been a pawn in the Socialist game, and indicates that he has had a very raw deal from the present Labour Government. In my opinion 95 per cent, of the farmers will admit that instead of having had a raw deal from the Labour Government they have been fairly and generously treated, - The guaranteed price and the up-to-date methods of marketing have been of immense advantage to the farmers. At the foot Of this particular advertisement the following claim is made: Nationalist for personal freedom, stability, and opportunity.' What freedom did the farmer have when he was on the budget? What stability had he during the previous Government's regime? What opportunity did he have?"
