HERE AND THERE
To Bid Farewell. - An enjoyable afternoon party was given by Mrs. Maurice Ham at the D.I.C. yesterday in honour of Mrs. Harold Hitt who is leaving with her husband on Friday for Australia and England. On her arrival Mrs. Hitt was presented with a shoulder spray of freesias and abutilons. Many friends were present to bid her farewell. Nursing Division Work. The Wellington South Nursing Division of the St John Ambulance Brigade Overseas met on Tuesday evening, a large number of members being | present. Miss Clark, Dunedin, was| welcomed as a member on transfer. Mrs. Betts, lady superintendent, presented Miss Leydon with a silver medal won in the Atalanta Cup *. competition, and a first-aid manual to Miss Salisbury. A hearty vote of thanks Was accorded to Mrsv Freitas for her effort in raising funds for the division. Work of the evening was bed-making and | squad work under the supervision of the officers. Students of the railway home-nursing class also practised bedmaking. The cadets did excellent firstaid work, being instructed by Mrs. j Miles, superintendent, and Miss Carroll, officer.
