"LADIES' EVENING"

BROOKLYN R.S.A.

The Brooklyn Returned Soldiers' Clubrooms in Cleveland Street • presented a lively and festive appearance on Monday evening when nitembers of the Ladies' Auxiliary reversed the usual practice.. at these r monthly functions by staging a social evening for the entertainment of the men members and visitors. There was a large and enthusiastic gathering to witness a performance providing many novel features and. delightful humour,

Features were this opening chorus. "Rose of No Man's Land," by the Company, costumed as Red Cross nurses, and a humorous investiture, which provoked much merriment, by the "Duchess of Brooklyn" and her retinue of ladies. Additional items were rendered by Mrs. Hilliker, Mrs. Troughton, Mrs. Rait, and Mrs. Fowler. Bouquets were presented to Mesdames Hilliker and Moug in appreciation of the thought and assistance given by them in the production "of the performance. A particularly dainty and generous buffet supper was provided by the ladies.

The chairman of the. auxiliary in congratulating the ladies on behalf of the men, expressed delight with the high standard of the entertainment and appreciation of the hospitality extended to them, and particularly of the spirit which pervaded the gathering.

To sprinkle cottons for ironing with warm water, use a whisk broom. A whisk broom distributes the moisture evenly.
