BOWLING

OTAKI RAILWAY CLUB

The Otaki Railway Bowling Club opened the'season last Saturday in fine weather and in the presence- of a large number of players and spectators.

Mr. A. D. Webster, president, in welcoming those present, stated that tins was the second year of the club. The first season opened with a membership of forty, all financial. This season it had reached over seventy, therefore it was evident, he considered that the club was in for a prosperous time.

Several enjoyable games were played while the ladies dispensed afternoon tea.

The first bowl' was rolled by Mrs. Webster, amidst applause. On Sunday several Wellington rinks. as well as many representatives from district clubs, visited the green, Hataitai eventually winning some very fine trophies.
